Seven ways to ask them to be your bridesmaid

taz 02

So your groom has popped the question to you and now it’s your turn. You’ve chosen who you want to be in your bridal squad and the time has come to finally get them on board, but how do YOU pop the question?

There are so many different ideas floating around, so to help you out I’ve crammed all of the best ones into this little list. Meaning it shouldn’t be too hard to find the right one that suits your friendship perfectly!

Get her to pop it herself!

This one is easily one of my favourite ideas! I always love a balloon jumping out of a box, and then to have to pop it to get the message makes it even more exciting. This is such a simple idea and can be made with little time, effort or money.. so it’s a win – win situation really!

Keep it simple with a card

Even though most people might turn to a card to ask their bridesmaids, that doesn’t mean that you can’t make the event really special and personal to your bridesmaid-to-be. There are so many beautiful (and free!) designs online for you to choose from and again it’s an option that is more purse-friendly.  However, if you do want to go the extra mile with your card, then making a scratch card is a lovely way to reveal the question.

Beautiful Jewellery

Whether you decide on some gorgeous accessories for your big day or a keepsake for the bridal party, either way asking with the gift of jewellery is always going to be a hit with the ladies. Be it a necklace, bracelet or earrings, your bridesmaids are sure to feel honoured to be a part of your wedding day.

The Bridesmaid Survival Box

This one will definitely hit the spot if you think you may turn into a dreaded bridezilla further down the line, you can either buy or make these boxes that will be full of the necessities for the journey your bridesmaid is about to go on. You can fill it with whatever you like, from some lovely keepsakes of your friendship, to a hand written letter, or simply a good old hangover kit!

If you and your future bridesmaid aren’t shy of a drink, then why not ask them with a little tipple! You can pop the question and then get straight to the celebrations, what’s not to like?

Get them to piece it together

This is a great idea for if you want to ask someone a bit younger, you can sit and watch them piece together the puzzle until they can read the question. What a great way to see the surprise on their face when they know they are going to be a bridesmaid!

Add a bit of humour

Whether they like it or not, being a bridesmaid comes with some pretty big responsibilities. You know like helping the bride with toilet duties, allowing the bride to look their best (even if that means donning the most ugly dress possible) and doing it all with a big grin on their face. So why not be honest about that when you pop the question, and let them know what they are getting themselves into!

So now you have lots of different options for asking the question, I hope you found this list useful.. if you are still looking for more inspiration then follow my Pinterest board for lots of more ideas!
